I have been interested in furniture and Antiques since I visited Switzerland as a boy. One of my uncles, Andre Perret was a recognised expert at repairing old Swiss clocks, another Jean Perret had a Jewellers, Clock and watch shop, and another one, Pierre, based himself in Geneva, specialised in English and Continental Barometers and early Scientific Instruments. Some of my other relatives ran a prestigious Antiques Centre on the side of Lake Geneva, with many pieces worth much more than a new expensive car.

One of our tasks as a boy in England was to take my Uncles and their sons round the Antique shops in Norfolk whilst they examined each item meticulously and negotiated over every penny.

When I was 19, I met a Scottish Antique dealer in Norwich, who took me under his wing, giving me lessons from his stock and allowing me to touch and feel the weight of excellent Scottish and English silver. I then started selling silver to private clients but never developed it into a full-time occupation.

After 30 years I became a little bored with Commercial Insurance and during the last two years the penny eventually dropped: I started full-time as a Furniture and Antiques dealer. We are not snobby about what we offer but try to find good quality items which are fully functional whilst being attractive. We handle a lot of old (100-150 years old) stripped pine, as well as newer Rustic Pine, providing it is very well made and not factory finished "orange" varnished pine. We also handle high quality mahogany and oak, which is exceptional value at the moment.

We often sell Art Deco items such as leather sofas, decorative items, Chests of drawers, Wardrobes.

Our clients are many and various, mainly friends, friends of friends, members of the public ,Antique Dealers but also we sell many items through some of the most prestigious Antique Centres and shops in the Bath/Bristol area.

We run our own Warehouse which is usually open Wednesday - Saturday 10am-3.00pm

When people buy from us, we ensure that they know what they are getting and that they will not have any surprises when the get home, such as drawers jamming, untreated woodworm, missing feet or castors, wobbly chairs etc
